2024 Mazda cx 5 rear hatch won

There is a manual release, it's located behind a square piece of trim on the bottom of the lift gate. The reason it's there is because there's no normal reason to require the lift gate to be opened from the inside. BillyBalowski • 8 yr. ago. Open the tailgate manually and leave it open, take both the cables OFF the battery and hold them together (when the cables are OFF the battery) re install the cables on battery and wait a minute. Close the tailgate manually. Cycle the car to key on engine off, wait about 30 seconds then key off. Hatchback versions of the car don't have an unlock function for the hatch. The hatch is simply always locked. It is unlocked and opened in the single activity of pressing the rectangular button in back. The fuse box is usually under the hood and on the right side of the engine bay. Check the power liftgate fuse to see if it has blown or if it has any other issues.
